Frequently asked questions

Is Pangobot free?

Yes. The free modules are not a trial and have no time limit. Some larger modules are premium and cost a one-time price per server - the list and the current prices are under Free and premium.

Is premium a subscription?

No. A premium module is bought once for one server and stays unlocked. Nothing renews.

Can I see a premium module before buying it?

Yes, completely: a locked module shows all of its settings in the dashboard as a read-only preview, and its page here lists every command and setting.

I bought a module for the wrong server.

Write to the team (the e-mail address is in the Legal Notice) with your Discord user ID and both server IDs.

Who can open my server's dashboard?

Members who hold Manage Server there - nobody else, and nobody from another server. The overview lists who changed what.

Does the bot read and store our messages?

What is stored are IDs and settings, not conversations: messages are looked at for what you switched on (AutoMod, logging, levels ...) and not kept. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Why does the bot need Administrator / so many permissions?

It does not need Administrator. It asks for the permissions its modules use (managing roles, timeouts, channels for tickets and voice rooms ...). You can take permissions away; a module that misses one says so in the dashboard's problem list.

Can the bot have our own name and avatar?

Yes, free: see Custom branding.

Where do I change the prefix?

Dashboard > Settings: General settings. Slash commands are not affected by it.
